ABOUT RANDY

Randy and Lauren have lived in Saskatoon since 1989 and have resided in Ward 5 for the past 18 years. They own a home in Silverwood and have happily raised their family here.

Randy is a business owner in Saskatoon.  He attended the University of Saskatchewan, worked for the federal government department of Citizenship and Immigration for 11 years, and was the supervisor of the local office when he left in 1999.  Randy worked at a community church as an Administrator and Teacher, and coached Saskatoon Minor Basketball in Saskatoon for many years.  He is also the owner/director of a boating safety company here in Saskatoon.  He was appointed by the Minister of Health to sit on the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority in 2008, where he serves on various committees and oversees a budget in excess of $1 Billion per year.

After winning the by-election in 2010 Randy has been the City Councillor for Ward 5 in the City of Saskatoon, where he also serves on various committees and oversees a budget in excess of $690 Million per year.  In 2012, Council added $4 Million extra funding for road maintenance, $3.9 Million for Police, and they added 6 new Police Officers to make our streets safer.  This was all done while balancing the budget, having the lowest property tax increases among major cities on the prairies, having the second lowest municipal tax rates per capita among major cities on the prairies, and maintaining a Triple A credit rating with Standard and Poors.
